Autumn is coming, usually accompanied by rain, wind and cold. Not the nicest thing of the autumn but it will offer time to enjoy the cozy indoors. I’ve started with a little colorful decoration in our kitchen. We live in a rented house so I usually don’t do big changes, but changing decorations is something I definitely do.
I like nice dishes, plates and shelves in the kitchen. It’s also a fun way to give your kitchen more atmosphere. This wooden cutting board was made by my father and the iron plates come from the thrift. The glass decorations I bought at Søstrene Grene in Groningen and the pumpkin comes from the garden! The stack of trays and bowls come from Vietnam. We bought an entire crockery while we were there and shipped them to the Netherlands.
Our kitchen table is always full with baby wipes, toys, my notebook, our tea basket, fruit and much more. Just a quick cleanup before I take a picture. The flowers I received from my husband, quite unexpectedly and very sweet! The teapot I bought at Ikea recently when the new catalog was released.
In the fall, you may decorate with colors because the outside is also only more colorful. The leaves turn into such a beautiful warm colors that you also would like to see inside the house. I like a little fall in the house but you will never find real autumn decorations in our interior. I find that a bit too decorative. A pumpkin is doing enough ;-)
Enjoy this wonderful season! Hopefully we get a lot of sunny days with warm sunshine so that the colors come out beautiful.
