Inspiration for a modern kids room
Kids rooms are the most challenging and exciting rooms in our homes to decorate because you can vary with colors, materials and accessories. There are a lot of great items for sale for in a modern kids room or nursery. Every day I see new products I’d like to buy for in Jaya’s room but it’s getting a bit too crowded in there.
Recently I wrote a post about a black white kids room in a Scandinavian style. I added a few products to it to complete the room. I find the black and white interior style a bit hard to realize in my own home because I love color so much. What about you? Can you cope with only buying black and white stuff? A pastel kids room for example would be less difficult for me. I love pastel colors, especially for a girl’s room.
A modern kids room decorated by …
These beautiful kids rooms are decorated by interior designers. Everything is perfectly matched, the material is adjusted, the style of the furniture, colors, lighting and accessories. I see many familiar items in these kids rooms, such as the Eames chairs, carpets, posters on the wall, duvet covers etc.
I like to look at interiors designed by professionals but also by people who see their interior as a passion and not as their profession. Professionals often get so caught up in the rules of design and color while when you look at interiors that are realized by the father or mother of a family, you will see so much spontaneity. Yet, I do take inspiration for my own interior from interior designers. I like to look for unique dining ideas or for instance kitchen ideas.
A few nice things that stand out to me (and I’d like to have myself) in these modern kids rooms are:
- The black and white ’tiles’ wallpaper.
- Gray balls garment.
- The ‘Do not Grow Up’ poster.
- The yellow dress standard.
- The rattan hanging chair.
- The bed in the shape of a house.
- And the pendant lamp that hangs next to the house.
What are your ‘wanna-haves’ in these modern kids rooms?
