I bumped into something new, something refreshing and something totally different today. The new rugs of the Mangas Original Collection. They are incredible and so different as the rugs I’ve seen before.

The entire collection is designed by Patricia Urquiola and is part of the brand Gan Rugs. She used the vintage dresses with puffed sleeves as an inspiration for these gorgeous rugs. A traditional image converted into a modern rug.

There are a few different sizes and designs like the Globe rug; a round rug perfect for at your desk, in the middle of a playroom or living room. A real eye-catcher in your interior!

The rectangular rug is well suited as a rug in a hallway, next to a long dresser or next to your bed.

Besides the rugs, this type of design is also available as a pouf. Gorgeous big poufs to sit on and relax! Because of the random shapes and the perfectly well used materials, these poufs are a real eye-catcher in your interior!

How are these rugs produced?

The technic that has been used is hand loom. The material is 100% wool and the bottom is made of cotton. The total height of the rug is 40 mm.

I really love how they have used these bright colors together with coarse materials and large knitting technique. These rugs look perfect in a minimalistic interior where they will get all the attention they deserve. In a less minimalistic and more colorful interior, they will also fit perfectly but they will not stand out that much.

Check out more of the rugs on their website.
