I’m so excited to share my first post about our trip through California. It was my first time being in this part of the States. I’ve been to Chicago and Washington briefly once but this part of the States was totally different. There is such a big beach vibe around Los Angeles. Everyone wears flip-flops, has a surf board or looks really beachy. Especially in Newport Beach where locals live but also a lot of tourists rent a house for a week or so.
There were lots of people surfing or paddle surfing here, jogging on the concrete strip on the beach, biking on a retro cool looking bike or walking with their dogs. It wasn’t even that busy or touristy when I was there.
Gorgeous binocular on the pier of Newport Beach in a bright red color.
The pier is a great place to watch the surfers, to see the beach and the beach houses or to watch people catch a lot of fish off the pier.
These simple white wooden sheds look very beachy don’t you think?
Lots of these houses had signs that they were available for rent. I wonder, do any locals still live here or are these homes only to rent out?
Beachlife in Newport Beach
I love how everything seems to be going on around and on the beach. People’s lives are all on the beach. They socialize on the beach, they run on the beach, they go for a swim on the beach, they catch their fish there, they drink their coffees or have lunch with friends. It’s all about the beach and that is great. I wish I lived near the beach so I could walk my dog here, catch up with friends or go jogging and have a great view at the same time.
I had a wonderful afternoon in Newport Beach. It was one of our first destinations in Los Angeles after our arrival in the States. We will travel up the highway one to San Francisco but more about that later on the blog.
Until next time, Claudia
