Last Saturday I went to the Dutch Design Week. You’ve probably seen a few posts coming by about this big design event in Holland. I’m sorry for all the spamming about the Dutch Design Week, but I had such a great time that I really wanted to share the highlights of the event. This is where I bumped into the StoryTiles. I literally bumped into them as their small stand was right at the entrance.
StoryTiles are miniature stories on the old-fashioned Dutch tiles that have been made since the 16th century. The visual artist Marga van Oers gives these old tiles a new life with a unique and humorous images. This way every tile tells its own story. Besides the tiles they also design StoryWood pieces made out of sustainable wood. These pieces look like paintings and have the most funniest and popular designs.
The different designs of StoryTiles
These tiles are divided in different categories. You can either choose the Old Dutch Tiles or the Modern Tiles by StoryTiles. The CityTiles are four different designs with either the skyline of London, New York, Paris or Amsterdam. Very cool as a souvenir after a trip to one of these amazing cities.
Interior inspiration with StoryTiles
Luckily StoryTiles also has images where we can see how they look in an interior. How we can combine them with other decorations and which colors we should use together with the tiles. Have a look at their gorgeous interior inspiration pictures.
Very, very cute isn’t it? The sizes of the tiles vary from 10 x 10 cm (3,9 x 3,9 in) or 13 x 13 cm (5,1 x 5,1 in). Shipping within the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg is for free for all orders from €50. Find out more about their amazing designs on their website, Facebook or Instagram.
